17 Apr 2010 April 2010 – Tree Show

In my first installment for this week, I put together a composite photo of one on my favorite spring tree types.  These trees are all around, and represent color that is popular with lots of local residents. The matting for the photos is a reflective metallic background of the main shot, which makes the colors pop and looks great in a digital picture frame.  For a full resolution look, click on the picture.

03 Apr 2010 April Towers 2010

Starting this month, I have decided to change the way I am displaying my available works by giving each treatment its own focus, and posting the different perspectives on their own.  Below is a matted photo that displays a nice picture taken on the Country Club Plaza in May of 2009.  Some of the distinct advantages of digital matting techniques are the tremendous variety of styles, textures, colors, and variations available, without the minor flaws seen with some physical matting techniques.   If you select to print and frame your photos in conventional frames, using various size prints, the digital matting is automatically sized to the picture without the need to measure and cut new mattes.  These mattes will stay fresh and new looking, because if your photo ever deteriorates, you just print and frame a fresh copy.  Lots of money saved there.

30 Jan 2010 January Favorites 2010 – Week 5

This week I hope you will be tickled by the offerings posted on the site.  I am working hard to provide enough ideas to inspire you to go out and get the pictures that mean something to you, and bring them here to treat them right.  I put together some creations that made me feel better about taking a picture of a feather on the ground.  I knew it would come in handy sometime.  Though I can work with most digital picture frame resolutions, I recommend using matted picture creations in a frame that is at least 10 inches.  Anything smaller than that just seems to lose impact.   Not that you cannot try it, but the smaller frames make your pictures look so small, they are not much good for regular photos either.  As the technology continues growing in popularity, you can get some of the larger frames for much better prices if you take the time to look around and compare.  On with the show.
