Christmas is coming quickly, and I hope it is full of the true meaning of the holiday for everyone.  Just in case you are more loaded with the commercial thoughts that seem to come along at this time of year, I have some new ideas for you to consider buying from me.  If you wind up disappointed by your presents this year, here are some inexpensive items for you to consider giving yourself or others that are sure to be appreciated.  All the examples are geared for 1024 x 768 resolution, but I can work with other resolutions on request.  The reason I make items at this resolution is to satisfy my own uses, and to get the right level of pizzaz from the end products.  Enjoy this week’s samples.

With digital matting and photos, the designs that arise from this approach can produce some unique and interesting results.  Take a look at this image used as a Valentines Day greeting.

Digital designs can create some nice seasonal greetings with a personal touch.

The format of this offering can be used as a screen wallpaper, displayed in a digital picture frame, or even printed.  This “greeting card” can also be delivered via email.  With this particular idea, the sender set up the picture as a wallpaper on his wife’s computer, so it would be there when she booted up her system.  As couples look to keep their romance kindled, this form of little “note” gets the point across quite nicely.  For other seasonal occasions or “just because” we can design digital greetings that you can print or send to friends and family.  If you have other family members with digital picture frames, you can send each other nice keepsake holiday wishes using the creativity of digital matting techniques.

In designing the piece, the sender used photos of himself and a Valentine’s Day wreath, his wife had made, as the focus of the message.  We took that theme and surrounded it with a rose colored background, burl wood, and onyx frame, with a golden sheet metal front to capture the sentiment of the words.  From the feedback, the personalized idea went over better than a box of candy.
