As this month draws to a close, I thought it would be nice to feature some art bits for this week. The first item is a digitally matted photo of a gift presented to me by my friend, Joseph Ruiz who departed for Fresno, California this week. Hope you had a good trip Joseph. I will keep your carving safe, and I hope to see you again soon my friend.
Next in line is a digital award which was created from a photo taken at the Nelson Art Gallery in Kansas City, which demonstrates the value and antiquity of the hearty handshake. The award applauds warmth, friendship, and agreements that rise from our clasping of hands. Handshakes also give us a feel for how sincere our greetings and agreements truly are.
Rolling out the third work of art, the digitally matted photo used in this digital calendar cube design also originated from a painting displayed at the Nelson Art Gallery. I like this design because of the depth, unusual variations, and accents that are possible with creating new calendar themes.
In keeping with the theme that a picture is worth a thousand words, this week’s digital inspirational plaque rounds out the offerings for the week. If you are in Kansas City and have not visited the art gallery recently, it is worth your time to go. When I took these pictures last week, I was careful to turn off the flash on my camera, as per the rules for taking photos. Even without the flash, I was able to get some nice pictures that I could take home and transform into my own private image collection. The friends I went with took the whirlwind tour through the place, which suited me fine, while others took the time to stop and read information about almost every exhibit. One of my friends told me, “That was an interesting way to kill some time.” I had to agree.
